actually, it didnt take long at all. i have really dense, thick hair with lots of stretch to it (very small corkscrew type curls). once locked, my hair grew and continues to grow like weeds :) ive enjoyed every moment since... ive considered cutting it shorter cuz i LOVED my locks in the early phases but it's too easy to put up in a ponytail and keep it moving

It took a while for your hair to grow and the result is beautiful. I wish I can have patience for mine to grow.
